When in Rome...eat more Vongole pasta. August 7.2011

hello again!
I am back from the coast and it was insanely hot. I spent a couple days in the sun with by fancy new blue umbrella and got burnt crispy!....but lets not get a head ....back to Vittorio's visit....

After a night in Rome we decided to take nonno on a bus tour of the city. He could have have led the tour since he knew where everything was! We were thinking of hopping on and off the bus a few times but it ended up taking awhile and it was sooooo hot so we thought we would sit tight and check it out from the bus.
We did get off the bus at the Trevi Fountain so that we could throw a coin and check out some souvenir shops. Nonno had a long list of things to get for his nurses and an even longer lost of things to get for nonna! Of course, once again we stopped for an awesome lunch right near the fountain. Italy is great at tourist locations because although you are paying too much for the food at least it is amazing! No pizza pizza pizza here. Nonno had spaghetti con vongole (again, he loves that stuff) and also stole a bit of my beer. He gave the waiters a hard time and said he thought maybe he could get a job there....they agreed. After an awesome lunch and a long walk in the sun nonno found one of the many roman fountains for a quick refreshment before boarding the bus for the rest of the tour.
Ash and i stayed in Rome for a couple extra days since there were things i wanted to see and again, we couldn't fit in the car with all the luggage!

Next stop: Castelvetere Sul Calore!

Vittorio walking through the termini station.
